The Scicluna Cup

Introduced in 1949-50 by Mr. Carmelo "Meme" Scicluna, the then owner of the Empire Stadium in Gzira where all senior soccer was played, the competition brought together the previous season's League Champions and the F.A Trophy winners. Contested for a period of 14 seasons, this competition became linked with Sliema Wanderers who won it on no less than ten occasions (once shared jointly with Floriana). The final edition was held in 1965-66 and won by Sliema. It was replaced by the Testaferrata Cup. Hamrun Spartans have never won this honour.

*In the season 1958-59, Sliema Wanderers and Floriana shared it for six months after two 1-1 draws.
